Mulvaney’s on 19th Street will soon double in size now that it has purchased its neighboring business Howard & Sons Garage. The purchase—confirmed by a restaurant employee, will be used for banquets and eventually turned into a casual dining restaurant. No date on when this will be happening, but it is true, Mulvaney’s will be expanding. Morton’s serves lunch during December Morton’s Steakhouse in downtown Sacramento will be open for lunch on selective days starting Thursday, Dec. 6. The upscale steakhouse— found at 521 L Street, will be open Thursday’s and Friday’s through the holiday month. Call ahead to make reservations at (916) 442-5091; www.mortons.com Taste of Africa New restaurant The Taste of African Cuisine will host a grand opening celebration Saturday Dec. 1 from 2 p.m.–6 p.m. Dunnie Iredia, a Sacramento resident originally from Nigeria, opened the restaurant to introduce locals to culinary from Africa.
