Dobra Zemlja (pronounced zem-ya) means “Good Earth” in Croatian; a saying that the winery has been able to turn into an actual experience when you see the grounds lush with colorful foliage and it’s pretty as postcard pond that’s the ideal setting for an afternoon of picnicking. Its eccentric tasting room is tucked away in a 19th century wine cave that has two huge wood doors and white lights that beckon from the entrance. Funky, friendly and casual is the primary theme at this small boutique winery that sells its signature red the Milan Ruz in a 1-liter jug. The wine label and mascot is a caricature of the winery owner wearing a pink tutu and dancing a jig. These wines can only be found through the winery.
