Food Around Town

More burgers in the New Year
If your New Year’s resolution is to eat more protein, then you’re in luck with the opening of Suzie Burger in midtown. This new burger joint—owned by the Haines Brother’s who also own Bistro 33 and 33rd Street Bistro—is slated to open in early January. The burger place will serve burgers, cheese steaks, milkshakes and chilidogs. It’s your basic calorie nightmare, but your taste buds will adore you. Suzie Burger is located at the corner of 29th and P Streets. They have a website, but not much is on there yet: suzieburger.com

Your chance to ignite the holiday spirit
Looking for one last push to capture your holiday spirit?  Head down to Old Sacramento for a day of Christmas lights, gingerbread Houses, and a train ride into the North Pole through the Polar Express at the California State Railroad Museum and hot chocolate.

Peet’s Coffee
In case you haven’t noticed, the Berkeley-based Peet’s Coffee is setting up shop all over the Sacramento area. Its newest store (in the MARRS building on 20th and J) is open and thriving. There’s another location popping up in East Sacramento on J Street—one block away from a Starbucks— and Elk Grove will soon have a Peet’s Coffee in their hamlet. Getting a caffeine buzz has really never been easier!

Folsom anticipates in 2008
The city of Folsom is still awaiting building plans for a new In and Out Burger that is slated to be constructed in 2008 on Iron Point Rd. and Placerville Road.
